Science and Innovation Festival 2019 Inaugurated at NB Science Centre at Siliguri

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 29th January, 2019: Science and Innovation Festival 2019 was inaugurated at North Bengal Science Centre, Siliguri, a unit of National Council of Science Museums-NCSM on Jan. 29, 2019. Prof. Tapas Sarkar, Sabhadhipati, Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Festival. Shri Prem Kumar Bardewa, WBCS (Exe.), AEO, Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Presided over the function in presence of Shri  Pintu Hati, Associate, National Innovation Foundation – India and other dignitaries. This year North Bengal Science Centre, Siliguri is collaborating with National Innovation Foundation – India to organize this Festival from Jan. 29-31, 2019. There are 3 types of competitive events – Science Model for School students, Innovative Models for School students & Innovative Models for College students along with a non-competitive Exhibition of Innovative Models by Grass root Innovators. A total of 65 models from 25 different schools & colleges are participating in this year’s Festival. Apart from model display many scientific activities will also be organized during these three days like- Open House Quiz, special Science Demonstration, Popular Science Lecture, etc. The Valediction & Prize distribution will take place on Jan. 31, 2019 at 3.00 pm. Prof. B.C. Paul, Dean of Science University of North Bengal is scheduled to grace the program as Chief Guest while Dr. Mayukh Sarkar, Principal-in-Charge, APC Roy Govt. college will Preside over the function.
