NBSA Today Organized the Rastriya Ekta Diwas at Siliguri

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 31st October, 2018: While the Honorable Prime Minister of India Sri. Narendra Modi was unveiling the tallest statue of the World (of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) known as the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, the Rastriya Ekta Diwas was also celebrated at the North Bengal Science Centre (NBSA) Siliguri for commemorating the 143rd Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In this occasion NBSA also organized the ‘Run for Unity’ and the pledge taking ceremony. There were also a Film Show on Sardar Patel, Visual Quiz on Our India & Popular Lecture on the topic “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Freedom Movement of India” involving schools students, teachers & general public.
The Run for Unity was flagged-off by Shri Arindam Chakraborty, Principal, Royal Academy, Matigara, Siliguri from their campus and ended at NBSC, Siliguri. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Bijoy Kumar Sarkar, Director, Akshaya Kumar Maitreya Heritage Museum, University of North Bengal, Siliguri. Prof. Sarkar also chaired the valedictory session in presence of Shri Ritabrata Biswas, Project Coordinator, NBSC, Siliguri & Shri Asim Chakrabarti, Royal Academy, Matigara, Siliguri and handed over the prizes to the winners of the various competitions. The event was well received and drew much appreciation from the participants.
