Central Government Owes Rs. 325 Cr to Cash Strapped Air India: RTI Report

Webdesk, TNI New Delhi, 11th March, 2018: According to an RTI reply sought by Commodore (retd) Lokesh Batra, Government of India owes Rs. 325 crore to the Cash-Strapped National air carrier Air India including the bills pending for VVIP chartered flights to foreign countries. According to the buzzwords throughout the Government circles that Air India is on the verge of getting sold off from the Government clutches soon. The pending bills totaling of Rs. 84.01 crore was carried forward from last financial year and the remaining amount are from the unfinished financial year. The travel bills included the chartered foreign and domestic visits by the VVIPs like the President, Vice President, and the Prime Minister. The bills need to be paid by the Defense Ministry, Ministry of External Affairs, PMO, and Cabinet Secretariat.
