TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Bengaluru, 30th July, 2015: Now Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce retail company comes up with 20 pickup stores throughout the country. The customers can collect their shipments from those stores in their convenient time. This information has been issued by Flipkart in their recent press release. The newest delivery model was prompted by various complaints of non-delivery of products by the e-kart delivery boys either because of unavailability of the receiver or the restriction of entry of the delivery boy to the receiver due to security reasons. Neeraj Aggarwal, senior director of delivery operations at Flipkart, said, “Getting logistics right is extremely crucial for e-commerce companies. We believe this model is a resolution to customer unavailability issues, as it offers consumers a choice to adjust the delivery time and location according to their convenience.” Flipkart also issued statements of adding various other VAS from the pipeline shortly like instant returns, spot trials, open box deliveries and exclusive product demos etc. The declared cities where the pickup stores of Flipkart will be installed are Bangalore, Mysore, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Vellore, Gurgaon, Vadodara and Surat. However, the company assured the customers of opening up more such stores by March 2016 throughout the country.
