BIHAR SIGNED MOU WITH CII AND LKY SCHOOL FOR PUBLIC POLICY SINGAPORE

Webdesk, TNI Patna, 24th July, 2015: Recently Bihar signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) of Singapore. Bihar is the second state in the eastern region and fourth in India, after Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to sign this MoU. This MoU has been signed with an aim to prepare a master plan od Ease of Doing Business in Bihar: Vision 2020. This step aspires to create a conducive and vibrant environment for business. Professor Tan Kong Yam, Co-Director, ACI-LKYSPP-NUS; Mr Tripurari Saran, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar and Mr S P Sinha, Chairman, CII Bihar State Council exchanged the MoU. As per the MoU, the three parties will collaborate in conducting joint research. Significantly, the MoU will enable Bihar to utilize the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) of Singapore as a platform for investment research, study economic situations and explore investment opportunities in ASEAN and China. Mr Tripurari Saran, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar appreciated and congratulated CII for bringing LKY School of Public Policy in Bihar.“The main objective of the MoU is to set a vision and build a roadmap for starting and doing businesses in Bihar. In every respect, it is an epoch-making partnership,” said A K Verma (Retd), Chairman, CII Eastern Region, adding that in consonance with the Prime Minister’s Make in India campaign such MoUs will be signed in other States soon. Mr S P Sinha, Chairman, CII Bihar State Council thanked the State Government and LKYSPP for coming forward and joining this win-win partnership. He further stated that CII will continue to work with the Bihar Government for the overall growth and development of the state.Mr P K Sinha, Vice Chairman, CII Bihar State Council and Dr Saugat Mukherjee, Regional Director, CII Eastern Region were also present during the occasion.
