Man Caught with Elephant Tooth at Madarihat Forest by SSB, Police and Forest Department

Webdesk, TNI Madarihat, 22nd August, 2017: In Dooars every day is becoming the hub of the illegal poachers. This has made the Forest Department worried. The forces like SSB and the Forest guards are always on high alert to stop or nab the illegal poachers. In one such incident, the Falakata SSB and the Forest Guards of the Department of Forest, Madarihat Circle, and Police conducted a raid after getting a secret tip off. The raid was conducted at Sathpukur Sandabari of Falakata block. An elephant tooth was recovered weighing 220 gms and a person was caught. The name of the person is Surendra Sarkar from the same place of the raid. According to the Falakata SSB No. 53 Batallion Commanding Officer Mr. Arbind Kumar, the man was later handed over to the Forest Department at Madarihat. He was later produced at Alipurduar Court.
