Rainbow Painting Exhibition Comes to an End Expressing Need for a Recognized Art College [VIDEO]

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 20th August 2017: The Rainbow Painting Exhibition ended yesterday at Ramkinkar Exhibition Hall of Tathya Kendra, Siliguri. It was a 3-day Painting exhibition depicting the works of 8 painters from Siliguri. All of them belong from Chitra Bhawan.
The exhibition was inaugurated on 17th August by many well-known artists. Basically, according to the organizers, this effort is to highlight the young talents of Siliguri to the forefront. The artworks depicted in the exhibition showed the excellence of the painters from the city. Most of the paintings were done by Acrylic on Canvas. Some of them were done by water on paper. Only Rajesh Sarkar exhibited his paintings by pencil on paper.
There were 8 painters whose artworks were exhibited at the show i.e. Mr. Ajit Malo, Smt. Nandita Chakraborty, Ms. Rimi Paul, Ms. Nikita Paul, Mr. Rajesh Sarkar, Ms. Reema Das, Mr. Sudip Basak and Mr. Dipayan Kundu. Speaking to TNI Painter Gobindo Roy, the pioneer of all of them expressed displeasure of not having a proper recognized Art College at Siliguri and North Bengal. According to him, the artists from here have to travel a distance to of 600 kms to Kolkata where also the achievement of dreams remains uncertain. However, he is hopeful about the future.
