Suspected IEDs Recovered from Dhupguri Ahead of Municipal Elections

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 21st July, 2017: During this pre-Municipal Election period at Dhupguri today, tension mounted in the town when the news of IED recovery at Dhupguri by the police spread throughout.
Six bombs were recovered at Gadong 2 No. Gram Panchayat’s Bhuter Haat village near Pundibari from a hay stack. All the bombs had IED and were connected by detonators. The secret tip off came to SSB 34 No Battalion. Immediately they along with Dhupguri Police rushed to the spot and recovered them.
All the bombs were brought to the camp. SSB Deputy Commandant Mr. Jayanta Kumar Pathak said that an investigation is needed for finding out the planters of the bombs. On the other hand, Jalpaiguri District Police super Mr. Amitabha Maity said that the bombs did not have any IEDs in them.
