Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 15th July, 2017: Yesterday the entire Raiganj town main areas were ransacked by at least 10000 Adivasi youths in the name of protest against not arresting the culprits raping 4 Adivasi women. In retaliation, the traders called an indefinite strike of business in Raiganj from today. In such a situation the District Police super Mr. Amit Kumar went to pacify the crowd. However, the step seemed to back fire. The agitators increased their agitation. In such a situation the police dispersed the crowd. The agitators questioned that yesterday the police in action was seen whereas today police tried to stop the bandh agitators in full force. On 9th July 4 Adivasi women were gang-raped by 6 men. However, among them, only 3 were arrested the rest are still untraceable by the police.
