Gangarampur Coming Up with a New Look, Courtesy the Green City Scheme

Webdesk, TNI Balurghat 1st July, 2017: Gangarampur is going to get its new look as a green city. Highly decorated street lights, fountains, varieties of beautification trees, flowering plants, parks for morning walks will be built in Gangarampur. All the road crossings will be lit up with LED lamps. The state PWD had already sanctioned money for making Gangarampur a green city. The chairman of Gangarampur Municipality Mr. Prasanta Mitra told TNI that the state Government has sanctioned Rs. 3 crore and 96 lakhs for the entire project. Among which Rs. 1 crore and 98 lakhs has already come. We have made the blueprint for the development to start”. It is expected that the green initiative will definitely reduce the level of pollution of Gangarampur town to a large extent. From the Municipality sources it is learned that the areas like Kaladighi Hospital More, Kadighat Polytechnic College more, Chowmatha Highroad More and many other places will be glittering with modern lamps, fountains, footpath etc. very soon.
