Matlahat High School Student Block Road for Road at Dinhata

Webdesk, TNI Dinhata 8^th May, 2017: Today the students of Matlahat High School of Dinhata and local residents blocked the road from Dinhata Madan Mohan Bari to Boxirhat in demand of making the road into a pucca road. The blockade continued upto 3 hours from 10 am. The agitators demanded that the total 10 kms of the road only 6 kms is pucca, the rest is 4 kms is the muddy road. Throughout the year the condition of the road remains worse. They also informed TNI that the matter was repeatedly reported to the state PWD but all of those fell on deaf ears. Further, the residents told that this is just the starting of a bigger movement. If the administration doesn’t take any stringent action then there will be more agitations in the future till the road is built.
