AKASHVANI LAUNCHES ‘MAITREE RADIO CHANNEL’ AND MULTIMEDIA WEBSITE AT KOLKATA

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 23^rd August, 2016: President Pranab Mukherjee launched ‘Akashvani Maitree Channel and Multimedia Website’ at Rajbhavan Kolkata. The state Governor Mr. Keshri Nath Tripathi, Prasar Bharati CEO Jahar Sarkar, Director General of Akashvani Mr. F. Sahriar etc. was present on the programme. The channel will be broadcasted at India-Bangladesh border mainly to cater both the audience of from across the border. Apart from this, the organizers said that the website – www.airworldservice.org/bangla will reach out to the Bengalis who are settled all over the world.  In his speech, the President said ‘A new chapter of relation will be open between West Bengal and Bangladesh by launching this channel. He further said,“ The aim was to further strengthen the cultural, economical, political and emotional bonding between two neighbors. AIR has a special place in the hearts of millions of people of Bangladesh since 1971. AIR Maitree will be a long way. AIR Maitree can be an important channel of communication between India and Bangladesh.” Mr. Manoj Gupta, Website in-charge told TNI “The spreading Bengali Community all over the world will be benefitted by the Multimedia Website”.
