FILM APPRECIATION COURSE IS BEING CONDUCTED BY WEST BENGAL GOVERNMENT

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 27th July, 2016: Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal organises a Film Appreciation Course every year since 1987. This year too there was no exception. The course this year started from 27th July and is supposed to complete by 5th Aug. The areas covered in the curriculum are all about Films in the area of Film Language, History of Cinema, Iranian Cinema, Theory of Cinema, Sociology of Cinema, Film Technology and Television-Video and New Technology.

This year a total of 50 students were selected and enrolled in the course by the panel of judges. Mr. Sandip Dutta, one of the students of the course told TNI about the classes. He said that all the participants are enjoying the sessions. He also said that the classes are very informative and educative. The participants are trying to do something exclusive. Some of them are trying to make a documentary film about the course. The students involved in the docu-film making are Sankha Dey, Sandy, Soumyajit, Upasana Banerjee and Dron Mukherjee. Among them, Sankha Dey said, “We are making a documentary about our experience of the course basically shooting our experience candidly.”
