3 ARRESTED AT JALPAIGURI IN CONNECTION WITH FORGED LOTTERY SELLING

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri 6th June, 2016: Scratching a lottery ticket will give prizes that too in the likes of motorcycles, cars etc. This was the main USP that was presented by some lottery sellers in Rangdhamali area of Jalpaiguri. The price of such lottery tickets were a whopping Rs. 100 each. However, lottery customers smelled rats when they found that none of the lottery tickets fetched big prizes. They immediately lodged a complaint against the culprits. Three people were thus arrested yesterday night by the police. They were booked for forgery of lottery. Kotwali police today also seized lotteries and gifts. The arrested are Manohar Mohammad (36), Mussakib Mohammad (35) and Aash Mohammad (33). The locals complained that the lottery sellers promised big prizes like cars, motorcycles etc. instead, they were given less priced prizes like iron, home appliances etc. The IC of Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police Station said the investigation have been started by the police.
