WORLD CULTURAL FESTIVAL TO START FROM 11TH MARCH AT NEW DELHI

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 5th March, 2016: World Cultural Festival, the biggest cultural festival will be held at New Delhi (DND flyway adjoining ground) from 11th-13th March 16. The World Culture Festival 2016 is a celebration of The Art of Living’s 35 years of service to humanity, spirituality and human values to over 370 million people across 155 countries. In a unique line-up of cultural performances and a visual extravaganza, about 35973 artists will perform on a stage built on 7 acres in the three-day mega event.  As a part of the festival, about 1000 artists selected from various corners of West Bengal will perform a Rabindra Sangeet Ensemble. In a press release issued by the organizers, they informed that in the event there would be the Grand Musical Symphony where 40 instruments will be played simultaneously by over 8000 musicians. This is turned a platform for the revival of tribal art forms from Indian states like Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and others. 1000 Bharatnatyam performers are being trained by 3 Padma awardees, 1000 Kathak dancers being choreographed by Kathak maestro, Pandit Birju Maharaj, more than 1000 Odissi dancers, more than 1500 Kuchipudi dancers, about 1620 Kathakali and Mohiniattam dancers, 1000 Ghoomar dancers from Rajasthan, more than 1000 Bhangra dancers, over 1500 Garba dancers from Gujrat, 1500 Harinavi folk artist, 1000 Naati dancers, 1000 Panthi dancers, 1000 Dhangari dhol players  along with 650 drummers from South Africa. Cosmic Rhythm will see 3000 artist perform 25 dance forms, artists from across the world like Brazilian Samba, Argentinian Tango, Hip Hop Rap, Bulgarian folk artists and Swiss Alphorn players adorn the stage, Whirling Dervishes from Turkey, some of the international performances include-Punk Sufi (from Pakistan), Latin fire for peace, Kandyan dance(Srilanka), Glow of Planet(Taiwan), Lion Dance(Singapore) etc. are represented by their performances. WCF will be inaugurated by Hon’ble PM Modi and His Excellence, President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, will deliver the valedictory speech. This will be the first time that dignitaries including religious and spiritual leaders, peacemakers, politicians, businessmen and change makers will come together to share the message of global peace and harmony in diversity at a rather turbulent time in the world.
