BHOJPURIYA SWABHIMAN SAMMELAN HELD AT SIWAN, BIHAR

Webdesk, TNI Siwan, 13th December, 2015: Recently the 6th Bhojpuriya Swabhimaan Sammelan was held at Siwan, Bihar. This is celebrated every year on the birth anniversary of the first President of India Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The main function was held at Prabha Prakash Degree College of Siwan, Bihar. The principal of the college Prof. Mohan Prasad urged the students and the audiences to stand beside the Bhojpuri language every time. The initial stages of the programme saw some traditional songs including the famous “Gaai Ke Gobar Mahadev” sung by Prof. Ranjana. Then there was a presentation of a song reflecting woman child’s bonding with family. The song was written by Guru Johar Safiyadi and titled ‘Nirdhan ke beti jani diha e bidhata’. The programme was attended by many bhojpuri speaking people not only from Bihar but also from various parts of the country. The main dignitaries present were bhojpuri novelist Sri Bidyarthi, Ghanshyam Sukla, Johar Saafiyadi, Prof. Lalbabu Yadav etc. Dignitaries spoke about the role of Bhojpur language in the Independence of India from British Rule.
