TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Dibrugarh, 23rd July, 2015: Dibrugarh yesterday experienced a heavy downpour leading to severe water logging condition throughout. All roads, lanes, markets, colonies and housing areas have been affected by the water-logging. The waterlogged condition was seen in office rooms, business establishments, and living rooms and in most of the municipality areas. A similar situation was seen in the premises of the Assam Medical College & Hospital. The traffic came to a standstill condition in busy areas like Thana Chariali, Chowkidinghee, Boiragimoth, Graham Bazar and Paltan Bazar etc. Low-lying areas Ambari, Kalibari, Kodomo ni, Molokhubosa, Graham Bazar, Lachit Nagar, Vishnu Nagar, PWD Colony, Jibon Phukan Nagar, Khan again, Basbari, Shantipara, Naliapool, Durgabari, Gangapara, Dibrujan, Jhalukpara and Amollapatty are the worst affected. The instant drainage of the overflowing water was not being initiated citing reasons of the seven-day work boycott for various demands by the civic workers of the civic body. However, ultimately the affected is Dibrugarh’s common people.
