UBER CAB DRIVER ARRESTED IN KOLKATA

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 22nd July, 2015: A women working at a shopping mall of Kolkata, lodged a complaint against Pintu Yadav, a driver of Uber Cab Services on July 8th in Bhowanipur police station. Based on that complaint, late Monday night Kolkata police arrested Pintu Yadav. Yesterday, Yadav who was booked under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to outrage modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation), got a bail. The lady had booked an Uber cab on July 8 evening when it was raining. In her complaint she alleged that Yadav was constantly looking at her on the rear-view mirror and she spotted him in a very offending posture while driving. Due to the fear of something worse may happen, the lady kept quiet. Though she did not press the SOS button (emergency number) on Uber app but contacted company officials on time. Uber had initially suspended the driver and later removed him permanently based on its internal probe into the incident.
