AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AGAINST ANTI-SOCIAL ACTIVITIES IN COOCH BEHAR

Webdesk, TNI Cooch Behar, 15th July, 2015: It is a stigma that anti-social activities have become more prevalent nowadays. To give a protection to this, The Social Welfare Unit of Cooch Behar District Administration has organized a camp. Smt. Debjani Bhattacharya,  Additional District Magistrate; Mr. Deepojjal Bhowmick, The Officer-in-Charge, Women And Child Protection Unit of CoochBehar District Police; Mr. Binod Kumble, Child Protection Officer; Mukulika Sinha, Chairperson of District Legal Aids Service and many teachers of various schools along with their students have participated in the campaign. Mr. Bhowmick here gave a thorough discussion on various emerging issues such as Human Trafficking Act-2008, Amendment Act-2012 against sexual harassment of children and women etc. and their applicability to ensure protection. Mr. Binod Kumble exchanged his views on how these unbearable and offensive activities should be averted and controlled with red hand by discussing on Child Labour Act-1986. In the closing session, the Additional D.M said, “Necessary steps will be taken soon to aware the students more so that they don’t indulge in this kind of anti-social activities themselves and be cautious.”
