WATER TANKER RELIEF IN TRIPURA TO COMBAT WATER CRISIS

Webdesk, TNI Agartala, 18th April, 2014: In a step towards making normalcy in Tripura, today the Tripura government declared some has unleashed emergency measures to combat the water crisis situation. At least 110 water tankers were set out by the Department of Drinking water and sanitation (DWS) for water distribution in the tribal areas. “We are helping out people facing an acute water crisis. This was informed by the DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik to the press on Friday. He further informed that the service is rendered to at least 300 hamlets in the hilly areas of the state. According to him the DWS department of the Tripura State Government has identified 138 hamlets across the state lacking the permanent source of drinking water and its working on a time bound project to create a supply point.
