Ancient Vishnu Idol found During Pond Excavation at Dakshin Dinajpur

Webdesk, TNI Kumarganj, 05^th February, 2023: An ancient idol was recovered from a pond in West Deun, a village of Sanjia Gram Panchayat under Kumarganj of Dakshin Dinajpur District. The idol of Vishnu was found during the digging work of the concerned pond is concerned. Immediately after recovering the idol, the local villagers tried to take it away from the spot. However, local police got it from them during night. The police has also started investigation on the matter. According to the police source it is learnt that some historians were contacted to find out the approximate of the black coloured stone build Vishnu idol. Some of the historians expects that the idol probably belong to Pala Dynasty of Bengal. However, exact date can only be understood by applying scientific dating process.
