Sahitya Akadami Award recipient Launches Book at Siliguri

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 17th February, 2019: Sahitya Akadami Award recipient Bindhya Subba’s second edition of short stories from classic collection ‘Hospice’ was launched on Sunday at Sangrila Book Cafe in Siliguri. Hospice was published in 2013 and this is the second edition from the classic stories that was released. Eminent writer from Darjeeling Subba said, “This is my second edition of short stories collection and there are 15 stories of various topics including medical physiology. There are some stories which are very different and hope the readers will like it.” Subba, who won several awards apart Sahitya Akadami has been contributing poets and stories since 70’s. Her first book was published in 1978, was conferred with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2003 for her novel Aatha (immeasurable). The novel has been translated in Assamese, Hindi, English, Maithili and Oriya. She had also contributed three works of fiction titled Flowers, Mountains and Streams (1986); The Unknown (1999) and Inaction (2006) were also published successively. A collection of her poems Integrated was published in 2004.
