Webdesk, TNI Islampur 6th August, 2017: From yesterday the Breast Feeding Week started in all the centers under Sushanhata Sishu Vikas Project. A total of 3737 centers is there under the project throughout the district. The objective of the Breast Feeding Week observing is to make the mothers aware of the positive impact on the child health due to breast feeding. In today’s scenario, most mothers are seen to keep away her child from breast feeding instead depend upon baby food and external milk. This has made most of the children prone to diseases. The Project Officer of Uttar Dinajpur District Mr. Chandan Dey told TNI “Every year in this week of August this Breast Feeding week is observed to keep the awareness movement among the mothers”. The District Magistrate Smt. Ayesha Rani told TNI that “There would be counseling and experience sharing sessions throughout the week in all ICDS centers for increasing more awareness among the mothers”.
