Yi Launches its Project Masoom, Nationally Initiated by Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarathi at Siliguri

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 3rd August 2017: Young Indians (Yi) Nationals has initiated ‘Project Masoom’, launched nationally by Sri Kailash Satyarathi, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. The Project was conceived to keep children safe by creating awareness on child safety among young Children, Parents, and Teachers.

The objective of Project ‘Masoom’ is to spread awareness on Child Sex Abuse by conducting workshops with primary school teachers, visiting schools to teach the children about safe and unsafe touch, sensitize parents about it & to awaken public alertness through rallies & campaigns. During the Awareness program, the National award winning animated clip Komal made by ‘Child Line Foundation’ is shown to the children. Project Masoom is operational pan India and last year we have successfully reached a direct impact on 21 Lacs individuals (including children, teachers, parents and other sections of the society).

YI, Siliguri Chapter has also been organizing awareness Sessions of Masoom at various Schools in an around the city. Yi-Siliguri has also partnered with ‘Create a Smile’ whose members have actively mentored the Masoom sessions. Recently on 25th July, 509 kids were sensitized at DAV School, Fulbari and then again on 27th July,  350 kids of Darjeeling Public School were empowered with knowledge of Good and Bad Touch.
