Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 6th July, 2017: Today in an important move the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs had banned the dual MRP system. This will be imposed in various shopping points. This dual MRP system enabled the sellers to charge a higher MRP than the marked price on the products. This was very much common in the airport shopping kiosks, Hotels, Shopping Malls etc. However, the order will come into force from January 1, 2018. For getting the reaction to the shopping malls of Siliguri, TNI spoke to some of the officials of the shopping Malls operating in Siliguri. One official of a shopping center at Cosmos Mall of Siliguri on the promise of secrecy told TNI that they are welcoming the move and it will increase the customer flow in the malls much more than before.  Another floor manager of a shopping center at City Centre at Siliguri said that “Though we don’t charge more from the customers, the move by the central government will ensure the faith on us by the customer in the days to come”.
