Another Meeting on Proposed 4 Lane Highway at Dhupguri Failed

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri 28th June, 2017: In today’s administrative meeting regarding the proposed 4 lane highway at Dhupguri there was massive chaos occurred. The meeting was organized by the mouza level to clear out the differences among the probable land losers. The land owners from Baroghoria, Khalaigram, Uttar Borogari, Vemtia areas came to the meeting after being called.
On the other hand, another meeting was called by the Jalpaiguri DM inviting another set of landowners from the aforementioned areas. Surprisingly, all the landowners came together in the meeting and demanded no separate meeting should be organized. After accepting the demand the meeting started. However, differences cropped in and the meeting concluded without any proper solution.

The DM clarified to the media that no pressure was mounted to the villagers for the land. A landowner named Asim Sarkar said that they would not part with their land in any circumstances. They have just come here to maintain decency because the land owners were called by official letters.
