Raiganj Town, A Green City in the Making, Courtesy Raiganj Municipality

Webdesk, TNI Raiganj 20th June, 2017: Raiganj Municipality decides to make Raiganj a green city. In this project, the decision has been taken to create parks in all the wards under Raiganj Municipality. There will be conservation of water bodies. LED Street lighting will be installed. Apart from this many afforestation programs will be initiated. In the initial stage, a budget of around Rs. 5 crores is sanctioned. The newly appointed Chairman of Raiganj Municipality Mr. Sandip Biswas told TNI that a systematic plan of developing Raiganj is being taken care of. Alongside, the dredging of River Kulik is also in the planning stage. The people of Raiganj have expressed satisfaction in such initiatives of Raiganj Municipality.
