The Children of the Sex Workers Perform Nazrul-Rabindra Jayanti at Coochbehar

Webdesk, TNI Coochbehar, 11^th June, 2017: Today the children of Coochbehar Priyoganj celebrated the Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti with as much ease as the children from elsewhere. This is because the common name for this area is Coochbehar’s Red Light area and all the children are none other than the warts of the Sex workers of this place. The sex workers are regularly fighting for the legalization of their profession and alongside they are also trying to make their children develop the culture from within.

Most of the children of this area are studying in various Government and Private schools of Coochbehar. A social activist Mr. Arka Mahalanobis has lent his hand to help them see the light of culture. He is continuously working with these children to gain them their right. His contribution is being lauded by the ex-secretary of Durbar Mahila Samannoy Committee of Coochbehar Smt. Chabi Das. Mr. Arka Mahalanobis tells in his own way “Everyone knows that where from the Diamonds come. There might be some diamonds also in this Priyoganj Colony too, nobody knows!”.
