Mr. Singh told the press “Siliguri and North Bengal is the ideal for football etc. AIFF should come forward to develop a big Football Academy comprising all the 8 districts”. He further clarified that the trainees from these districts have a big chance to excel here and go to the National and International Standards.
In another response to a question, Mr. Singh said that premier clubs like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan should be honored by inviting them to play in ISL. The century-old clubs led Indian Football to the World Arena should not be kept aside by the ISL authorities.
