Gas Agency Workers of Raiganj Demands Money for Free Gas under Prime Minister Ujala Scheme
By Partha Chatterjee (TNI Raiganj) | TNI Editing Siliguri
Webdesk, TNI Raiganj 23rd May, 2017: Free gas through Prime Minister’s Ujala Scheme was illegally charged for Rs. 200 – Rs. 400 each by the Gas agency supply workers at Ghoshpara of Subhash Ganj under Raiganj. The standard procedure is that gas has to be supplied free of cost to the customers under Prime Minister Ujala Scheme. However, when the suppliers demanded Rs. 200 – 400 per cylinder, confusion raised in the mind of the residents. The residents of Ghoshpara told our TNI Correspondents that only Rs. 100 was taken for form fill up during the registration under the Prime Minister Ujala Scheme and they were also informed by the officials at the spot that no other money is required. Today, the supplying agency workers are now demanding Rs. 200 -400 for each cylinder for delivery.
