Hail Storm Washes Away New Year Celebration at Uttar Dinajpur District [VIDEO]

Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 15^th April, 2017: In the Bengali New year suddenly the sky turned pale and along came down heavy rains with hail storm at Raiganj and the adjacent districts. According to the sources of the district administration, the storm had created enough destruction in the areas like Raiganj, Kaliaganj, Hemtabad, Goalpokhor blocks of Uttar Dinajpur Districts. Many mud houses were destroyed in the heavy rains along with strong winds. The Milan mela celebrations of Hemtabad near India – Bangladesh Border have completely washed away. District magistrate Ayesha Rani told TNI that the areas of Raiganj block like Birghoi, Bahin, Barua, Shitgram, and Rampur suffered maximum crop loss due to the sudden hail storm. However, the estimation of the total loss is currently being done by the officers of district administration at the affected areas.
