Banarhat Women Organized Basanti Puja After a Gap of 7 Years

Webdesk, TNI Banarhat, 2nd April, 2017: At Kshudirampally area of Banarhat, the women organized Basanti Puja started from today. Interestingly, the puja used to be organized here earlier i.e. at least 7 years before. However, it stopped abruptly and did not happen further. Now this year it is again revived. Today the puja celebration started with a morning procession. The loudspeakers rolled out the ‘Agomoni’ song throughout the procession. The procession started from Banarhat Colony and traversed to Banarhat Bazar, Chamurchi More, and other areas. The president of the puja committee Smt. Livi Mallick, Secretary Smt. Runu Dey and the treasurer Smt. Konika Dutta told TNI that “Earlier the Basanti Puja used to be organized at Chamurchi More. However, since it was closed for quite a few years we again have started the puja”. The organizers further said that during the puja every evening will be accompanied with various competitions for enthusiastically celebrate the puja days.
