New Operations of BSF Malda Leading to Early Success in Busting FICN Rackets

Webdesk, TNI Malda, 15th February, 2017: An operational guideline has been issued by Mr. P. S. R. Anjaneyulu, Inspector General BSF South Bengal Frontier with the main intention of strengthening Border domination so as to effectively check the menace of smuggling and other activities of Anti-National Elements on South Bengal Border with Bangladesh. According to the field Commanders of BSF, these guidelines can to a large extent ensure maintaining of the extra vigil on the border to thwart the attempts of smugglers / Anti-National Elements. Over the last few days, the tactical operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers. In this regard, there were some significant successes like detaining of a person named Umar Farookh by the joint operation between the BSF and NIA on 14th Feb 2017 at Golapganj area under Malda district. The many were already wanted by NIA in the previous case of smuggling of Rs.5, 94,000 Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) in the year 2015. This time he has been detained with notes of Rs.2000 FICN of the face value of Rs 6000 FICN. A mobile phone has also been recovered from his possession.
