This Year’s SIT’s Book Festival To be Started from 16th February

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 14th February 2017: Like every year, this year also SIT is organizing its Book festival at its campus. In a press conference today it was declared by the Director of the college Prof. Jyotirmoy Jhampati in Siliguri. the name of the festival is termed as “Days with Books – 2017” is slated to start from 16th February 2017 to 18th February 2017. According to the SIT officials, in this book fair, students will get the opportunity to celebrate the knowledge and culture through sharing their creativities and skill based activities. Many publishers from various corners of India will exhibit their books here for the book lovers. The renowned educationist Prof. J. Sankrityayana is also invited to inaugurate the festival as a chief guest. Two books titled “Kalam Katha” and “The Way of Love – St. Teresa of Calcutta” written by the MD of Techno India Group Mr. Satyam Roy Chowdhury will also be launched in the Book festival. Apart from this various cultural activity like sit and draw competition, Newspaper reading, open quiz, Art workshop by renowned artist etc. will also be conducted throughout the Book Festival at the SIT campus. Felicitation of Padmashree Karimul Haque will also is one of the items in the Book festival itinerary. He is going to be felicitated on 18th February 2017.
