Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 3rd February, 2017: The Maha Shiv Ratri is knocking on the door. It is slated to be on 24th February i.e. Friday. The famous Jateshwar Shiv Mandir of Falakata is being geared up for the occasion. A new Mandir has been constructed in place of the old one. However, the old structure has also been retained with all fervors. The final touches are being given to the new mandir. This Mandir is one of the oldest Shivmandir in the entire West Bengal. Every year many pilgrims come to visit this Jateswar Shiv Temple in Shiv Ratri. A 10-day mela is also being organized. The entire Jateshwar is now in a festival fervor. This year the tithi of Shiv Ratri has fallen in two days so the devotees will have an opportunity to sprinkle water on Maha Shiv for two days. On the other hand, the utsav committee has taken measures to control the crowd. Sources, however, said that the mela may also be postponed for few days in view of the Madhyamik Examination.
