Kidnapped Child Recovered By Jalpaiguri Police After 28 Days

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri, 17th January, 2016: Piyali, the one-year-old little girl from Jalpaiguri was kidnapped 28 days ago. She was recovered by the action of Jalpaiguri District Police from Sultanpur of New Delhi. The family thus expressed relief today. The child was kidnapped by the elder sister of Piyali’s mother at Kranti under Jalpaiguri district. Piyali’s mother Sumita kept little Piyali in the arms of her sister Chaiti Roy, while she went to the bank for withdrawing cash. Later when she came after withdrawing money she didn’t find the child and her sister outside. Later in the evening, a missing diary was done at Kranti Police outpost. While investigating Police came to know that the child was kept by Chaiti at her second husband’s place. Jalpaiguri Police super Mr. Amitabha Maity ordered a raid on 13th January at Chaiti’s residence of Sultanpur. The child was thus recovered and Chaiti arrested. Later the child was handed over to CWC through Childline. The police super of Jalpaiguri Mr. Amitabha Maiti told TNI that the child would be handed over to her mother after completing some legal formalities.
