Islampur Office Cricket Tournament Started Today

Webdesk, TNI Islampur, 24th December, 2016: Shovanlal Memorial Champion and Swastik Das Memorial Runners Inter-Office Cricket Tournament started from today at Islampur Court Maidan. The tournament was inaugurated by the SDO Mr. Tshering Youngden Bhutia. In this occasion, the Islampur Municipality Chairman and MP Mr. Kanhaiyalal Agarwal was also present. Nine teams are participating in the tournament. In the first match today the SDO Office Recreation Club team played with Islampur Municipality team. In the first innings, the SDO Office scored 133 runs in 18 overs losing 5 wickets. In response to that Islampur Municipality were all out by scoring only 127 runs. Thus the first match was won by the SDO office Recreation club by 6 runs. In the second match, Islampur College Employees Recreation Club lost to Chopra Block Employees Recreation club by 5 wickets and 3 overs to bowl.
