Elephant Herd kills Villager at Madarihat

Webdesk, TNI Madarihat, 15^th December, 2016: A man named Tulsi Munda (50) was killed by elephants yesterday at Morgar Basti of Dalgaon Range near Madarihat. The area comes under Birpara Block of Alipurduar District. It is reported that on Wednesday night a herd of elephants entered the Morgar Basti and started smashing houses. Several villagers tried to stop the elephants however, Tulsi Munda came under the elephant attack. He died on the spot. Tension mounted in the place and soon after Forest personnel rushed to the spot.
