Police Custody Death at Falakata Police Station

Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 02nd December, 2016: Today tension mounted after there were reports of a Police custody death at Falakata Police Station. A man named Krishna Chandra Saha was arrested yesterday on charges of wife abuse. The man is a Toto driver by profession. Today morning it was learned that midnight the man died in police custody. Later the family members were informed by the police about the death after taking the body to the police station. The SDPO Mr. Partha Sarathi Mazumdar rushed to the spot. The wife of the deceased, however, informed that the man was under treatment for many days and he was ill. He was also earlier taken to South India for treatment. The family informed the press that the police should not be blamed for the death. However, sources from the police said that since the death occurred in police custody, so only after the post mortem report the real cause of death can be ascertained.
