CHHAT PUJA CELEBRATED AT GAIRKATA WITH HUGH ENTHUSIASM

Webdesk, TNI Gairkata, 6th November, 2016: Dedicated to lord Surya and Chhati Maiyya (Usha, lord Surya’s wife), Chhat puja was celebrated at Gairkata. Devotees especially from the people of Bihar the enthusiasm was huge in Gairkata. The makeshift Ghats made by the local people and their committees were full of Chhat enthusiasts in the Angrabhasha river at Gairkata.
Womenfolk were observed come with the offerings to the ghats and wait till the sun sets. All of them prayed during the Sunset as a mark of the ritual during the Chhat. Some entertainment stages were also made to entertain the devotees who keep themselves awake throughout the night in the river ghat. Tomorrow i.e. on Monday in the early hours the Chhat devotees will again offer prayers to the Sun God and Chhati Maiyaa and end the puja.
