DHUPGURI BLOCK’S HEALTH CENTRE WITH NO ELECTRICITY FOR TWO DAYS

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 3^rd November, 2016: The Government health centre i.e. Jalpaiguri District’s Jhar Alta Primary Health centre under Dhupguri Block is continuing to be dysfunctional under a no-electricity condition for the last 2 days. This has led various function of the health centre like child vaccination is being closed due to no electricity. On the other hand, since the refrigerator is also stopped hence the life-saving drugs that are stored under the freezing condition is also facing immediate damage situation. At least 2500 people of the area are dependent on this PHC. The patients are also suffering due to the no-electricity condition especially the elderly patients. The in-charge of the PHC Dr. Nachiketa Dolui also have accepted the situation and said that a local electrician is being called in for some temporary repairing. TNI when contacted the District CMOH he said that those are actually handled by the local PHCs however, necessary steps would be taken to restore normalcy.
