DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF ISLAMPUR INCLUSION IN WB STARTED

Webdesk, TNI Islampur, 2nd November, 2016: The diamond jubilee celebration of Islampur’s inclusion into West Bengal was today started by the inauguration of a book titled “Islampur Pouranchaler Itibritto” (The History of Islampur Municipal Area). The small function was held at the Hall of Islampur Girls High School. In the function along with the Islampur Municipality Chairman Mr. Kanhaiyalal Agarwal, there was former HOD of History Department, NBU Prof. Ananda Gopal Ghosh, Headmistress of Islampur Girls High School Smt. Jagadhattri Sarkar and the editor of the book Archeologist Dr. Brindaban Ghosh. The book contains 8 chapters that included writings of 72 writers about Islampur. According to the Dr. Ghosh, the book will definitely become helpful for the future generation. From this function, the Diamond Jubilee of Islampur’s inclusion in West Bengal started. This was declared by the Mr. Kanhaiyalal Agarwal.
