3 DIE IN WATER CONTAMINATED DIARRHOEA MENACE AT GOALPOKHOR

Webdesk, TNI Goalpokhor, 1st November, 2016: Diarrhoea control mission is going on in full swing at Goalpokhor block’s Dharampur 1 No. Gram Panchayat area. The administration is taking measures to control the menace. So far 3 deaths have been declared by the administration at the Lodhan Block Primary Health center. 3 patients have been shifted to Islampur Sub-divisional Hospital. 20 more fresh cases of the disease have been reported from Dharampur Bazar area.
However, many of them have already released after successful treatment. Administrative sources have said that the main cause of the Diarrhoea here is the polluted water sources in the area. The administration is taking measures like creating a medical outpost in the villages, distributing distilled water pouches to the villagers and also making them aware of the consequences of consuming contaminated water. The BDO of Goalpokhor Mr. Raju Sherpa said that the decontamination process of the ground water has already being started in the area. Similar words were heard from the DM of Uttar Dinajpur Smt. Ayesha Rani.
