Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 31st October, 2016: A huge fire broke out at Siliguri’s Haiderpara area in a Steel Furniture factory today afternoon. It is reported that 4 gas cylinders kept inside the workshop blasted (reason still being investigated) and the entire workshop blew up in flames. There was no casualty in the fire because the workshop was closed for Diwali holidays. Soon after the fire spread electricity got snapped off. According to the local witnesses, the fire could have caused more damage as there were big residential flats surrounded the factory. The fire brigade reached the spot in no time and doused the flames just within 45 minutes. The fire officers told TNI that there was no casualty in the incident. However, he also informed that the over enthusiastic unruly crowd made it difficult to reach the spot for the fire tenders. At the moment the investigation is being gone on for the finding the exact cause of the fire.
