CHAOS AT DHUPGURI AFTER GAS TANKER LEAKED NEAR NATIONAL HIGHWAY

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 28th October, 2016: A tanker filled with domestic fuel gas today capsized at the National Highway adjacent to Dhupguri creating tension among the residents of the area. The accident occurred at Angrabhasha area of Dhupguri. It is learned that the tanker was moving towards Silchar, Assam when it capsized into a roadside trench at Angrabhasha area. Immediately after the accident leak was observed. The residents rushed out of their homes with the sound of the accident. Police were informed immediately. The area was cordoned and the traffic was stopped. Apart from this everyone of the areas was instructed not to light any sort of fire in the area. At least 2 kms long traffic jam was observed in the National Highway. A specialized rescue vehicle left from Guwahati for recovering the vehicle. Meanwhile, the residents fell in the problem because there was a temporary ban of lighting any sort of fire. This led to no food for the families. The BDO of Dhupguri block said that instructions were given to the local panchayat to serve food for the families residing near the accident spot.
