3 WOOD SMUGGLERS NABBED RED HANDED AT GAIRKATA MORAGHAT FOREST

Webdesk, TNI Gairkata, 23rd October, 2016: The Moraghat Range Forest Guards today got another success when they arrested 3 wood smugglers while the guards were on night patrol in the Forest. All the nabbed were charged with illegal felling of trees in the forest. The arrest was made in the Totapara Beat area under 2 No. The compartment of Moraghat Range. Sources from the Moraghat Range office said that the patrolling team while on routine patrolling heard sound of tree felling in the forest at around 1:30 am in the night. They immediately saw at least 15-20 people were felling trees. Soon after the forest guards raided the thieves but most of them fled the spot. However, the unlucky were Raj Kiran Oraon, Ram Munda, and Rakesh Biswakarma. The Ranger of Moraghat Range Mr. Ajay Ghosh told TNI that all the 3 will be produced in the Jalpaiguri court on Monday and the raids against more illegal smugglers of the area will continue.
