OIKYA SAMMELONI CELEBRATES SMALL BUT EFFECTIVE DURGA PUJA THIS YEAR

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 6^th October, 2016: A small but most sought after puja is Hakimpara’s Oikya Sammelonis Durga Puja. This year Oikya Sammeloni is celebrating its 36^th Durga Puja. The Puja is located adjacent to the famous Rabindra Sangha’s Puja and in the border of Hakimpara and Rabindra Nagar. However, the puja remained unsighted for many years. This time the young members vowed to make it large and have raised the budget to a never before amount to Rs. 2 Lakhs.

Mr. Sourav Chaudhuri told TNI that the club has plans to become one of the biggest puja of the place and come in the Puja Big league of Siliguri in the days to come. This year the theme is based on Bengal’s handicraft. The pandal is made of bamboo carvings, kula etc. Tomorrow i.e. on 7^th October the pandal will be inaugurated. Mr. Rana Ghosh told TNI that an eminent person from the locality Mr. Partha Deb will lead the Asthami Bhog distribution during the afternoon to the people.
