“ANANDA DHARA” IS THIS YEAR’S THEME OF SILIGURI UPKAR’S DURGA PUJA

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 03^rd October, 2016: Surrounded by elite clubs of Siliguri in terms of Durga puja celebration is concerned Upkar Athletic Club maintains its traditionality in its presentation of Durga Devi in front of the viewers. Not a single year people can remember Upkar’s Durga puja has reduced in its grandeur. This is always a must for the pandal hoppers. This year is also no exception where Upkar Athletic club is bang on its approach towards 48th Durga Puja festivities. TNI spoke to the secretary of the Durga puja committee Mr. Santosh Pandit. He said that the budget of the Durga Puja this year is Rs. 12 lakhs. The theme is based on Rabindra Nath ‘Aananda Dhara’. Artist Mr. Binoy Paul is making no efforts go in vain for making the theme successful in Upkar Athletic Club’s Durga Puja. Mr. Pandit also further said that the opening of the puja will be on 6th October by the MIC Tourism Mr. Gautam Deb. On the same platform itself, clothes will be distributed among the poor. Close Circuit Cameras are going to be installed in the puja pandal and also in the premises. The entire puja pandal will be having various social message banners. Along with this will be the Safe Drive, Save Life message too.
