IGNOU ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR LIBRARY SCIENCE COUNSELORS HELD AT SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 19th September, 2016: A Two-day Orientation Programme for Academic Counselors of BLIS (Bachelor of Library & Information Science) and MLIS (Master of Library & Information Science) Programmes of IGNOU was organized by Siliguri Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) last Friday i.e. 16th September, 2016. The programme was held at the Conference Hall of Hotel Sevoke Valley Residency, Siliguri during 16th & 17th September, 2016.
The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. Susanta Das, Former Controller of Examinations, the University of North Bengal who was the ‘Chief Guest’ of the programme. Dr. Biswajit Bhowmik, Regional Director welcomed all the participants to the ‘Orientation Programme’. Prof. Uma Kanjilal, Professor, School of Social Sciences, IGNOU, New Delhi and Dr. Archana Shukla, Reader, School of Social Sciences, IGNOU, New Delhi was the ‘Resource Persons’. Academic Counsellors of BLIS and MLIS programmes from four states namely West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand participated in the Programme. The discussions were mainly focused on issues relating to various academic aspects of BLIS and MLIS programmes in order to provide better support services to the BLIS & MLIS learners of IGNOU.
