ARMY TRUCK HIT FOOTPATH AT SILIGURI’S BURDWAN ROAD: 1 KILLED

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 16th September, 2016: Today in a devastating incident an army truck crashed on some footpath goers at Siliguri’s Burdwan Road. The incident happened in the afternoon at Burdwan Road in front of a Shopping Mall. The army truck hit roadside stalls, pedestrians, cyclist, motorcyclist, rickshaws and also the shanties. A person succumbed to injuries in the hospital believed to be a hawker. 2 of the injured are in serious condition. Most of the injured are admitted at NBMC&H. The residents and the shopkeepers immediately blocked the road demanding the arrest of the driver. The ADCP (East) Mr. Mrinal Majumdar told TNI that police investigation has started for this incident. Only the other hand a military police investigation has already started by the army. In this regard during evening hours, military police arrived at the spot for investigation.
